Erika J. Waters, Ph.D., formerly an English professor at the University of the Virgin Islands, founded and edited The Caribbean Writer and edited collections of fiction, poetry, literary criticism, and drama.
She was the recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant and was a Fulbright Scholar to Finland. She also taught part-time at the University of Southern Maine (Portland) and has written books on Maine and the Virgin Islands, along with articles and reviews for magazines, including The Chronicle of Higher Education, World Literature Today, The Women's Review of Books, and Maine Boats, Homes, and Harbors.
Since moving to Florida, she’s taught writing and literature at the Renaissance Academy of Florida Gulf Coast University and written for the Marco Island Historical Society.
